NYSDMV 5-Hour Pre-licensing Class

The 5 Hr. Pre-licensing class is required for ALL NYS permit holders before registering for NYS road test.

The class talks about the Highway Traffic System in which everyone drives. Some of the subjects discussed in this class are:

The importance of being a defensive driver
Right of way - When you have it and when you do not have it
The dangers of distracted driving
Safe following distance
The dangers of aggressive driving / road rage
The effects of drinking, doing drugs and driving
Graduated Licensing

6 Hr. Point and Insurance Reduction Defensive Driving Class

This DMV-Approved Defensive Driving Course is an excellent way for experienced drivers to earn a discount on their automobile insurance, reduce points on their license, and improve their skills at accident prevention.

The 6 Hr. Point/Insurance Reduction - Defensive Driving class allows the attendee to have up to 4 points reduced from the total points on their license and if you are the principle operator of a vehicle, reduce your vehicle insurance premiums by 10% per year for the next 3 years.

Point Reduction Benefit

It is important to understand that in New York State, if a driver accumulates 11 points within an 18 month period, he or she will need to go to a DMV hearing and will have his or her license taken away. Attending our Defensive Driving Class will help prevent this from happening by reducing your net total points on your driving record.

Insurance Reduction Benefit

Reduce up to 10% on your insurance premium each year, for the next 3 years on all vehicles ( e.g. automobile, truck, motorcycle, SUV, etc.) that you are the principle driver. This discount is not optional. Every insurance company in New York State has to honor our course and give you the 10% discount on your collision, liability and PIP [Personal Injury Protection] insurance premiums each year for the next 3 years. This discount is in addition to most other insurance discounts you are getting now.

All my driving lessons are unique and customized for each individual’s specific driving needs and ability level. Lessons are catered to each individual families needs including: parking in parking spaces, expressway driving, village/city driving, and teaching reviewing basic turning and backing up maneuvers.

Lessons are conducted in the car that the road test will be completed with and that the student drives the most. A parent or adult rides along with us during the lessons. (The adult that rides with the student the most) This helps with comfort level and confidence for the driver and better practice in the future because the parent or adult is also learning how to teach the student better. This leads to safer drivers and more educated drivers and family members.

All driving lesson are customized to the driver's needs, but I specialize in Road Test Prep lessons. Road test prep lessons include: completing 5-6 parallel parks, 3-4 K turns and 8-10 mock road tests so that the student feels 100% positive of the process and expectations of a road test. All lessons are 1 HOUR long.
